TERMS & POLICIES

Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions explain how services are provided by DTAC, what clients can expect when working together and the responsibilities that apply on both sides.

They should give clients a clear understanding of how the working relationship operates, including payment, communication and the scope of the services being provided.

Note for Darren

As mentioned in the contract, I do not write legal terms and conditions, so this page will need to reflect the way DTAC actually works with clients.

I can structure the page clearly and make sure it is presented properly on the website, but the final wording should be based on your own processes and client arrangements. If you are unsure about anything, please consult a solicitor or another suitably qualified professional.

As a general guide, Terms and Conditions for an accountancy business may need to cover:

  • who DTAC is and how clients can contact you

  • which services you provide

  • how the scope of work is agreed

  • what information and records clients are responsible for providing

  • payment terms and when invoices are due

  • what happens if payments are late

  • how additional work outside the agreed scope is handled

  • how deadlines and turnaround times are managed

  • how clients should communicate changes that may affect the work

  • responsibilities around accuracy of information provided by the client

  • confidentiality and how client information is handled

  • use of third party software or services where relevant

  • limitations of liability and professional responsibility

  • what happens if either side wants to end the working relationship

  • what happens to outstanding fees or work when services end

  • intellectual property or ownership of documents where relevant

  • how complaints are handled

  • which law governs the agreement and how disputes are dealt with
