This page explains what cookies may be used, what they do and the choices available to you when you visit the DTAC website.

Note for Darren

As mentioned in the contract, I do not write legal policies, so this section will need to reflect the cookies and tracking tools actually used on your website.

I can structure the page clearly and make sure it is easy to access, but the final wording should accurately describe your own setup. If you are unsure about anything, please consult a solicitor or another suitably qualified professional.

As a general guide, the ICO says cookie information should usually explain:

  • what cookies are

  • which cookies the website uses

  • what each cookie does

  • why those cookies are being used

  • which cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function

  • which cookies are used for analytics, marketing or other optional purposes

  • whether any third party services place cookies

  • how long cookies remain on a visitor’s device

  • how visitors can accept or reject optional cookies

  • how visitors can change or withdraw their cookie preferences

  • how visitors can control or delete cookies through their browser

  • where visitors can find further information about how their personal data is handled

The ICO says visitors need to be told when cookies are being used and what they do. For cookies that are not strictly necessary, an appropriate form of consent is generally required before they are set.
